D.O.E: €40k - €50k

Overview:

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Purchaser to support their construction team in County Mayo. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing procurement activities, sourcing materials and services, and ensuring cost-effective and timely supply chain support for projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Acquiring the materials, sourcing sub-contractors, suppliers and services needed to build, maintain, and manage residential properties
  • Sourcing building materials, negotiating vendor contracts, and ensuring supply chain costs are managed effectively
  • Sourcing & Tendering: Issuing tender documents for construction works, maintenance repairs.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluating new suppliers, checking insurance and tax certificates, and organizing review meetings.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all purchases and works contracts follow relevant public procurement guidelines (e.g., national and EU directives).
  • Contract Administration: Managing the purchasing database, processing orders, and tracking supplier performance.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a Buyer, Procurement, or Supply Chain role.
  • Construction industry experience highly desirable.
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, or related discipline.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with procurement or accounts systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
