The main purpose of the Quantity Surveyor is to work alongside an experienced Highways construction team providing financial management to the scheme.

The Surveyor will assist the Site Manager and Contracts Manager on schemes under the Highways Infrastructure contract.

Responsabilities:

  • All types of Highways Civils related schemes.
  • Have a detailed understanding of the NEC Contract specifically Options A,C & E
  • Financial monitoring and reporting of projects assigned
  • Assisting and establishing suitable construction contracts with clients to suit procurement needs
  • Preparation of financial statements in respect to projects assigned
  • Ensuring proper administration of the Contract requirements
  • Create monthly applications and create the final account.
  • Gather and collate records of all work done
  • Assist with payment authorisation of subcontractors
  • Contribute to the formulation of the monthly financial reports, both internal management accounts and external applications for payment

Attributes

  • HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
  • Degree advantageous
  • Clean driving Licence
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Experience in the preparation of the interim and final applications
  • Experience in target cost contract or similar
  • Experience with NEC Options A,C and E
  • Experience in people-management
  • Good communication skills
  • Enthusiastic approach to people and projects
  • Proven track record to demonstrate skills and qualifications
  • Forward thinking and interested in developing smart ways of working with teams to realise client and operational objectives
  • Motivated and engaged
  • Commercially aware
  • Well organized
