Thursday 14th April saw our first Women in Construction event in London. The event was organised by O'Neill and Brennan Recruitment Consultants Jackie Murray and Karina Stamburska, to say a big thank you to some of the ladies we work with on a daily basis.
We were joined by the Senior Resident Liaison Officers at Wates – Doina Caniparu, Lynne Mitchell and Lisa Armstrong, as well as Barbara Plackett, a Lead Administrator, who has been with Kier Construction for 28 years and is now based on their Greenwich Project.
Female workers only make up around 11% of employees within the Construction Industry; we wanted to take some time to thank them for their contributions as well as set up an informal event to discuss the industry, experiences and a general get together.
We are looking to make this a regular event each month and would welcome hearing from women throughout the construction industry who would like to attend our next event planned for early June.
