Wates Construction’s latest Building Futures event took place in Dudley recently, with ten over 19s completing the two week programme. As usual the programme consisted of on-site training sessions in various disciplines from carpentry to plumbing to tiling. There were also workshops to improve candidates’ CV building and interview skills. O’Neill & Brennan’s Amy Porter was on hand to conduct mock interviews during this stage, giving candidates valuable experience and feedback to increase their employability.

With the completion of this event, Wates have now put over 1,000 people through the Building Futures programme which earns each candidate a QCF Level 1 Award in Building Crafts as well as a CSCS registration which allows them to work on building sites in the future.
